GOLDEN, Colo. – For the third time in his career, Colorado School of Mines 285-pounder Weston Hunt is the RMAC Wrestler of the Week.
Hunt punctuated No.16 Mines’ 31-6 win over No. 12 Fort Hays State on Thursday with a 4-2 victory over No. 10 A.J. Cooper. Facing a ranked opponent to start the season, Hunt did not surrender an offensive point as he exploded for a second-period reversal into a nearfall-2 to take the lead.
Hunt previously earned the honor on Jan. 29, 2019 and Nov. 21, 2017. A senior, Hunt is 48-19 as a four-year starter for the Orediggers.
Mines returns to the mat this Saturday, hosting Colorado Mesa at 1 p.m.
